About the author

Paul S. Richardson is Professor of Marketing at Niagara University, following earlier faculty appointments at Loyola University Chicago. In more than thirty years of teaching, he has worked at the intersection of marketing and each era's defining technology: he edited one of the first internet-marketing course readers (McGraw-Hill, 2000), wrote The Art and Science of Prompt Engineering in Marketing (Cambria Press, 2025), and as department chair developed and launched undergraduate and MBA programs in digital marketing, analytics, and artificial intelligence. He currently teaches an AI-marketing curriculum spanning nine courses — from generative AI content to marketing agents and LLMs — including the studio courses this series accompanies, which he developed and first taught with his own students.

His research on brands, retailing, and digital commerce has been cited more than 5,100 times and appears in the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Retailing, and the Journal of Consumer Affairs, with current work examining algorithmic commerce, including dark patterns in online marketplaces. He holds a PhD in marketing from the University at Buffalo and completed advanced machine-learning training at Deep Atlas in 2024.
